Dragon Blood Tree

The Dragon Blood Tree or Socotra Dragon Tree is named for its thick, dark red resin. It  is found on the island of Socotra, Yemen.

A big tree native to tropical America, the sandbox tree is notable for its pumpkin-shaped seed capsules that rupture with a loud explosion, dispersing the seeds.

It absorb rainwater, allowing it to produce nutrient-dense fruit during the dry season when everything around it is dry and parched. So, it is known as "The Tree of Life"

It is found in Deadvlei .   These were blossoming trees, but the environment dried up, and dunes closed off Deadvlei from the nearest river. In Deadvlei, it became too dry.
